Dr. McFerron received her Bachelor of Science from The University of Tulsa in Tulsa,Oklahoma in 2003.  Her Doctorate of Optometry was received in 2008 at the Oklahoma College of Optometry at Northeastern State University in Tahlequah,Oklahoma.  In July 2008, Dr. McFerron moved from Oklahoma to Oregon.  In October 2011 Dr. McFerron bought Canby Eyecare from Dr. Don Chase after 37 years of ownership. 

During her education, Dr. McFerron was trained in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and pediatrics, as well as all forms of primary care optometry.  She is certified to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents to treat glaucoma, iritis, "red eye" and other anterior eye diseases.  Dr. McFerron's main interests in optometry include contact lenses, ocular disease, and pediatrics. 

Dr. McFerron is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), the Portland Metropolitan Optometric Society (PMOS), and the Oklahoma Association of Optometric Physicians (OAOP).  She also is on the Board of Directors of OAOP and PMOS.  In her spare time, Dr. McFerron enjoys exercising, reading, and cooking with her husband Derek who is also an optometrist practicing at Oregon Health Science University (OHSU). 

Dr. Shin received his Bachelor of Science from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL in 1998. His Doctorate of Optometry was received in 2012 from the Southern California College of Optometry in Fullerton, CA where he received numerous awards including the prestigious VSP Scholarship for Excellence in Primary Care.

Dr. Shin completed rotations at the Optometric Center of Los Angeles, Bakersfield Veteran's Affairs clinic, and Julie Berg Ryan Adult & Pediatric Optometry. He was trained in ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, pediatrics, vision therapy and primary care. He is certified to use therapeutic pharmaceutical agents to treat glaucoma, iritis and other diseases including "red eyes".

Dr. Shin is a member of the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Portland Metropolitan Optometric Society (PMOS). During his spare time, he enjoys road biking, reading, hosting dinners for friends and spending time with his wife.

Abbie, our certified para-optometric technician is trained to assist our doctors with your eye exam as well as other diagnostic testing like visual fields and retina imaging.  She coordinates care with your primary physician, as well as any specialists such as surgeons for cataract surgery, LASIK, etc. Abbie has been with Canby Eyecare since 2001.  Mother of two, she enjoys camping, hiking and cooking.

Jenn, our primary receptionist, is new to our office and is a great fit. She will find all of your insurance information needs. She also keeps our website and Facebook page updated.  She is interested in making an appointment that best fits your schedule. Jenn, newly out of college and starting her career, enjoys 4-wheeling, exercising, fishing and reading.

Grace has been working in the optical industry since 2000. Her experience and extensive knowledge of frame styles and lens designs will make it easy for you to find the perfect pair of glasses. She truly has a passion for eyewear and will make your experience selecting eyewear very fun and exciting. Her commitment to providing high quality customer service keeps Grace striving for excellence. Mother of one, she enjoys the outdoors, sports and reading.
